Coaching
Technical improvements are created from the ground up: footwork, balance and position. The swing needs a foundation otherwise there is no repetition and improvements take longer. Most tennis teachers understand the basic swing, some understand the kinetic chain. I know these things and put them in the larger context of anticipation, preparation, movement, load, explode, recover. All this blends together into a smooth rhythm that allows tennis to flow from your body. Tennis players speak of being in "The Zone", a state of mind and body that anticipates every move, executes every stroke. Tennis requires many hours of practice, hitting a thousand forehands, a thousand backhands. You can't play in "The Zone" until you have invested the effort.
I teach the modern game, strokes that explode from the ground while directing the ball with pace and spin, serves that jump or curve, volleys that penetrate, the physics, geometry and strategies of tennis. I understand how bad technique or unsuitable equipment causes joint pain, how proper technique provides power without effort or injury, how to train, how to stay healthy.
Take some lessons. Take your game to the next level. Enjoy
tennis and have fun.
